DECEMBER BRINGS CHILLY WEATHER.

COSY COAT SET

 

THE HOODED COAT IS MADE FROM AN OLD  WASHED CASHMER AND WOOL COAT AND LINED IN NAVY FINE COTTON ,   A  SLEEVLESS ANGORA  AND WOOL TOP  FITS UNDERNEATH  THE COAT.  TO COMPLETE THE LOOK A  MATCHING SCARF ,HAT AND MITTS WITH NAVY KNITTED TAILORED TIGHTS AND HAND MADE SOFT LEATHER BOOTS. AUTUMN/ WINTER

 

I am long winded with my blog posts but when I read other blogs I am not on my own. 

 I have been knitting adult mitts ready for the winter but just had the urge to create for Sasha so I have completed 2 new sets . The blue checked fabric is a blue brushed cotton and the fine knitted stockings and knits are lambswool and angora, this wool must have been with me about 25 years .

 

The pretty cotton print dress  fabric  was purchased just recently from a local shop, not very expensive but reminded me of 1950s quality cotton. the fine knits are a slightly brushed yarn. I have tried to co-ordinate the leather shoes with a little wool trim. 

 

As our postage has gone up these outfits  are £40 each inclusive of post and packing

Late summer sewing for sasha

 

Well , after the hotest Sunday ever its Monday morning wash day rain,  thats the weather for you. 

 

Heres an outfit that I have just completed . The sleevless dress and hat  are made from a recycled medium wieght Laura Ashley fabric . The fine knit cardigan has raglan sleeves and the tailored  tights are knit in the same wool,  To complete the set a contrasting knitted purse and handmade leather shoes.  For Sale £38 inclusive of post and packing. CLOTH LADIES IN THE SUN

I made these dolls some time ago, both are made from old irish linen damask serviettes.  The checked viyella dresses are  Sasha size,  The big rabbit is also made from linen damask and the little rabbit from calico.   They are all made from my own pattern  apart from the  little rabbit which is taken from a pattern book by cabbages and roses.

   

Smocking for Sasha

This is the latest outfit I have made for Sasha.  Its such a long time since I did some smocking and  its suprising how you forget till you get going again.  Its quite a substantial  set  as it kind of evolved and I kept changing my mind.   Its a mid calf length dress with smocking across the bodice in green, the fabric is liberty lawn including the pants and hat which as you see are a plain liberty lawn. I made the long socks to match the bag and the ankle strap shoes then made the wool cream socks and the slip on shoes, couldn't make up my mind which looked best so all are included . The colour of the bag is high lighted by 2 little crochet buttons at each side of the hat. Its a nice little set and Sasha looks a bit like Holly Hobby.  £35.00 to include post and packing.  lots of picture taken on this very warm day. SORRY THIS IS NOW SOLD
